Here’s a step-by-step guide to installing Windows 10 or 11 using a USB drive:


### **1. Prepare the USB Drive**

#### **a. Download the Windows Media Creation Tool:**

   - Visit the official Microsoft website.

   - Download the **Windows Media Creation Tool** for Windows 10 or 11.


#### **b. Create a Bootable USB Drive:**

   - Plug in a USB drive with at least 8GB of storage. Ensure that the USB drive is empty, as this process will erase all data on it.

   - Run the **Windows Media Creation Tool**.

   - Select **"Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC"** and click **Next**.

   - Choose the **language**, **edition** (Windows 10/11), and **architecture** (32-bit or 64-bit) that matches your system.

   - Select **USB flash drive** as the media to use.

   - Choose your USB drive from the list and click **Next**. The tool will download the necessary files and create the bootable USB drive.


### **2. Configure BIOS/UEFI Settings**

#### **a. Access BIOS/UEFI:**

   - Restart your computer and press the key (usually **F2**, **F10**, **DEL**, or **ESC**) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup. The specific key varies by manufacturer and will often be displayed briefly on the screen during boot.

   

#### **b. Change Boot Order:**

   - In BIOS/UEFI, look for the **Boot** or **Boot Order** settings.

   - Set the USB drive as the primary boot device.

   - Save the changes and exit BIOS/UEFI.


### **3. Install Windows**

#### **a. Boot from USB:**

   - With the bootable USB drive connected, restart your computer.

   - The computer should boot from the USB drive. If it doesn’t, return to BIOS/UEFI to ensure the boot order is set correctly.

   

#### **b. Start the Installation:**

   - You’ll see the Windows logo and then the Windows Setup screen.

   - Choose your language, time, and keyboard preferences and click **Next**.

   - Click **Install Now**.


#### **c. Enter Product Key:**

   - If prompted, enter your Windows 10/11 product key. If you don’t have one, you can skip this step and activate Windows later.


#### **d. Choose Installation Type:**

   - Choose **Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)** to perform a fresh installation.

   

#### **e. Select the Installation Drive:**

   - Select the partition where you want to install Windows. If your hard drive has existing partitions, you can delete them to create a new partition for the installation (be cautious, as this will erase all data).

   - Click **Next** to start the installation.


#### **f. Windows Installation Process:**

   - Windows will start copying files and installing the operating system. This process might take some time, and the computer will restart several times.


### **4. Set Up Windows**

   - After the installation is complete, you’ll be guided through the initial setup process, where you’ll choose settings such as region, language, and account preferences.

   - You may be prompted to sign in with your Microsoft account or create a local account.

   - Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.


### **5. Install Drivers and Updates**

   - Once Windows is installed, connect to the internet.

   - Windows Update should automatically download and install the necessary drivers. If some hardware isn't working correctly, visit the manufacturer’s website to download and install the appropriate drivers.

   - Ensure that Windows is up-to-date by checking for updates in **Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update**.


### **6. Activation (if not already done)**

   - If you skipped entering a product key during installation, you can activate Windows by going to **Settings > Update & Security > Activation** and entering your product key.


Your Windows 10 or 11 installation should now be complete!
